Nomination Criteria
The Quincy YWCA is inviting community members throughout Quincy to nominate women whose professional and volunteer work supports, embodies, and complements our mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. We are looking for women who fit the following criteria:
- Woman of Achievement – An extraordinary local woman who has broken through to the top of their profession and promotes the advancement of women, minorities, or those living in poverty.
- Phoenix Award – A local woman whose actions have had a positive, constructive impact on the social fabric of her community and the well-being of individuals and families. Her work makes an impact toward youth development, racial justice, social justice, or those living in poverty, as well as overcoming obstacles to rise from poverty to self-sufficiency or advocates and assists others in overcoming obstacles to rise from poverty or other difficult situations.

Future Woman of Achievement Scholarship
THE YWCA WANTS TO AWARD A YOUNG WOMAN A $1,000 SCHOLARSHIP TO AN ACCREDITED COLLEGE OR VOCATIONAL SCHOOL OF HER CHOICE TO HELP FULFILL HER ACADEMIC DREAM
The scholarship is awarded to a young woman who is a leader in her local school, church, or community, and whose volunteer efforts directly impact youth or disadvantaged persons
To apply please provide two letters of recommendation and a letter detailing:
- Leadership roles at school, church, and/or in the community.
- Examples of volunteer efforts directly with youth or disadvantaged persons.
- Future aspirations of education and career goals.
