Eliminating Racism - Empowering Women - YWCA - Quincy Illinois

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO END HOMELESSNESS IN QUINCY!

The YWCA Quincy has been serving the community since 1905. Over the years the YWCA has provided a variety of services and assistance to the community.

We currently focus our efforts on administering a HUD-sponsored Supportive Housing Program. This is an intensive program which provides housing and direct support for up to 16 to 21 formerly homeless singles and/or families at any given time through two projects – transitional and permanent housing. Case Managers provide the guidance and support necessary for individuals/families to gain their financial independence, strengthen their family bonds and break the cycle of poverty.

In 2024, Housing Solutions Quincy approached the YWCA about raising funds for the YWCA to buy and rehab or build additional housing allowing the YWCA to serve even more families. We have happily and excitedly accepted.

The YWCA does have experience in purchasing rehabbing and managing properties. In the last (2) years we have partnered with granters to purchase (3) homes resulting in (6) additional units for our Justice Program.

All our clients not only receive housing; they also receive life skill, financial, parenting and other trainings. We do in home case management with each of our clients and partner with other local organizations to provide trainings we do not offer in house. It is our goal to assist our clients in graduating from our programs with in 2-3 years and assist them into moving into permanent sustainable housing.

The clients that we place in homes built with the funds raised by Housing Solutions Quincy will be no different. All the clients in this new program will receive housing assistance and in home case management with the goal of graduating them our of the program in 2-3 years. This lifecycle of the programs allow us to help as many community members as possible.
