Mission & Vision

YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

This YWCA mission statement was adopted by the General Assembly in 2009.

Our Local Vision

The YWCA's Hallmark programs support education, training opportunities, and increased pay for women while working to eliminate racism wherever it exists.  That effort is reflected in our local mission "Opening Doors and Creating Opportunities for Women and Children of Adams County."

The YWCA Quincy works to:

  • Enhance the lives of women and children and
  • Implement programs to help raise awareness and eliminate racism
Our priorities for the next three years are to build on our strengths and to focus on:
  • Broadening our vision and strengthening our foundation of community-minded supporters
  • Better diversifying our program offerings to include all age levels and economic groups, and particularly women and girls of color
  • Executing a public relations approach that celebrates our successes and incorporates the YWCA National Brand
  • Leveraging our talented and knowledgeable staff to be of most benefit to our association, our program participants, and the Quincy community at large
Our commitment to this action plan is strong, and will allow us to positively impact the community.
Our goal of strengthening the family and working for the rights of women to be treated with the dignity and respect they deserve continues to remain among our greatest achievements.
